Christopher Adiletta, MD

Dr. Christopher Adiletta obtained a B.S. Degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. He then went on to further study at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, N.E. where he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree. He then completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, N.Y., where he was Chief Resident. He was the director of the Diabetic Therapy Group and founded the Syracuse Chapter of “Walk with a Doc” program. In his final year of residency, he earned the Society of Family Medicine’s Teaching Award.

Dr. Adiletta is from Rochester, NY and met his wife at Le Moyne College. They are enjoying their new home in Syracuse and travelling to many new places together.

Dr. Adiletta is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is also board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Adiletta joined CNY Family Care in September of 2018.

Martha G. Aliwalas, M.D.

Dr. Aliwalas obtained a B.S. degree in Biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and a Medical degree from the State University of NY at Buffalo, School of Medicine, in Buffalo, NY. She completed a Family Practice Residency Program as well as a one year Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, St. Margaret, Pittsburgh PA. Dr. Aliwalas previously practiced at Lynn Community Health Center in Lynn, MA, an underserved clinic before joining CNY Family Care. She is Licensed as a Physician by the University of the State of NY Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

Joseph P. Augustine, M.D.

Dr. Augustine obtained a B.S. degree in physics from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. He completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Augustine is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Dept., Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is an attending physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse as well as the Chairman of the Family Medicine Dept. since 2003. Dr. Augustine is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Augustine is one of the original founding partner physicians of CNY Family Care, LLP.

Nicholas J. Augustine, MD

Dr. Nicholas J. Augustine obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in 2011 where he majored in Biology. He then returned to Syracuse for further study at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree. In 2015, Dr. Nick Augustine was awarded the SUNY Upstate Endocrinology Award. In 2018, Dr. Nick Augustine completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, N.Y., where he was selected as Chief Resident in his final year – 2017 to 2018.

Dr. Nick Augustine is originally from Syracuse. He and his wife currently reside in Skaneateles, NY.

Dr. Nick Augustine is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is also board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.

Karen E. Beckman, M.D.

Dr. Karen Eberly Beckman is licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Beckman received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Rochester and a Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Cortland. Dr. Beckman earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Albany Medical College and completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.

Dr. Beckman is from Cortland, N.Y. and currently resides in Fayetteville with her husband and three children.

Louis Bonavita, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Louis Bonavita, Jr. obtained a B.S. Degree in biology from St. Bonaventure University in 1984, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr Bonavita then obtained his medical degree in 1988 from the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York, graduating with high honors. He was inducted into the AOA Medical Honor Society and also received the Bruce Farrell Memorial Award for medical excellence at graduation.

Dr. Bonavita completed a Family Practice Residency Program at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1991. He was elected Chief Resident in his final year. Upon graduation he received the Society of Family Medicine’s Teacher Award.

Dr. Bonavita and his wife moved back to Central New York and started a family, raising three sons and one daughter. He is one of the founding partners of CNY Family Care, LLP. In addition, Dr. Bonavita was awarded the New York State Family Physician of the year in 2003.

Dr. Bonavita is Licensed by the University of the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is board certified in Family Practice and is a Diplomat and Fellow of the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Bonavita has special interest in the areas of dermatology, orthopedics, cardiology, gynecology and urology.

Peter J. Christiano, M.D.

Dr. Christiano obtained a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA., and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. He completed a Family Practice Residence Program at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. Dr. Christiano is Licensed as a Physician by the University of the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is also certified as a Diplomate with the American Board of Family Medicine [ABFM].

Dr. Christiano is one of the founding partner physicians at CNY Family Care, LLP.

Stephanie A. Clapper, MD

Dr. Stephanie A. Clapper received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from St, Lawrence University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2004. She received the Degree of Doctor of Medicine from Albany Medical College in 2008. She completed a Family Practice Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y. where she was Chief Resident.

Dr. Clapper is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. She is also board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Clapper joined CNY Family Care in August 2011.

Paul A. Fiacco, M.D.

Dr. Fiacco obtained a B.S. degree, with Honors, from Syracuse University and a Medical Degree from the College of Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. He also completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at the State University of New York Health Science Center.

Dr. Fiacco is one of the founding partner physicians at CNY Family Care, LLP.

Dr. Fiacco is Licensed by the University of the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In the field of medicine, Dr. Fiacco has a special interest in Clinical Research and outcome studies and on a personal level enjoys Lacrosse.

Michael A. Fiacco, MD

Michael A. Fiacco, MD Dr. Michael A. Fiacco obtained a B.A. Degree, Cum Laude, from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. where he graduated with honors in Mathematics. He then went on to further study at SUNY Upstate Medical University where he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree. He then completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, N.Y., where he was selected to be Chief Resident.

Dr. Fiacco is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery.

He is originally from Syracuse, NY. He enjoys watching all sports, playing lacrosse and rock climbing. He also enjoys cooking and traveling with his wife, Katie.

Anthony J. Malvasi, D.O.

Dr. Anthony Malvasi obtained his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2007. He then went on for further study at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania where he received his “Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine” in 2012.

After completing his Family Medicine Residency program at St. Joseph’s Health, he officially joined the practice in 2016.

Originally from Syracuse, NY, Dr. Malvasi and his wife now reside in Manlius, NY with their 3 children.

Michael P. Mincolla, MD

Dr. Mincolla obtained a B.S. degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. He then went on to further study at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He then completed a Family Practice Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y.

Dr. Mincolla is Licensed as a Physician by the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. His interests include pediatric/adolescent medicine, sports medicine and chronic disease management.

Dr. Mincolla joined CNY Family Care in August 2011.

Michael J. Picciano, M.D.

Dr. Picciano is one of the founding Partner Physicians of CNY Family Care, LLP.

Dr. Picciano obtained a B.S. degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, from LeMoyne College in 1985, and a Medical Degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY in 1989. He completed a Family Practice Residence Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, NY in 1992. Dr. Picciano is one of the founding partner physicians of CNY Family Care, LLP.

Dr. Picciano is Licensed as a Physician by the University of the State of New York Education Department, Office of the Professions, and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

Elizabeth Saarie, M.D.

Dr. Saarie is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine.

She obtained a B.S. degree, Cum Laude with Honors in Biology, from Syracuse University and her Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. She is married to a pediatrician and has three children.

James L. Tarala, MD

Dr. Tarala obtained a B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center that is also located in Syracuse, NY.

Dr. Tarala is licensed as a Physician by the University of the State of New York Education Dept., Office of the Professions and qualified to practice Medicine and Surgery. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Tarala is an Associate Clinical Professor at Upstate Medical University and has special interest in diabetes, obesity management, sports medicine, disease prevention and nutrition.

Dr. Tarala joined CNY Family Care in August 2010.
